VisitStCroix.com is pleased to announce that its 11 hi-resolution video streaming cameras, broadcasting live video 24 hours a day, 7 days per week through the VisitStCroix.com YouTube Channel, are currently receiving a record number of views – 117,000 for the month of March to date and currently close to 6200 views per day. The Channel has over 6200 regular subscribers.
“We believe that the recently increased viewership is attributable not only to increased seasonal demand, but also due to folks with an interest in St. Croix such as frequent or past visitors, off island property owners, business people and those with relatives and friends now living in St. Croix wanting to view the island,” states Tom Yaegel, founder and president of VisitTheVI.com, parent of VisitStCroix.com. He continues, “ While the current situation is a tragedy for all, the cameras continue to broadcast the natural beauty of St. Croix to the world.”
The cameras can be accessed on the main page of VisitStCroix.com by clicking on the upper right tab “Live Web Cams” to get to https://www.visitstcroix.com/live_cams.html as well as through YouTube. Enter the YouTube search term “St. Croix” and the cameras will appear near the top of the first page.
Cameras currently in operation are located at the Caravelle Hotel & Casino (Panoramic view of Christiansted Harbor and Boardwalk), Caravelle’s King Christian Hotel (Historic Christiansted view), The Buccaneer (view to Mermaid beach, tennis courts and golf course), Chenay Bay with view to beach and west, Eat @ Cane Bay with view to beach, Caravelle Hotel & Casino with view to adjoining street and boardwalk, Schooner Bay Condominium with view to St. Croix Marina & Christiansted harbor, BlueWater Terrace Restaurant with view to Buck Island, The Palms At Pelican Cove with sea and hotel pool view, The Fred Hotel & Restaurant with rotating sea and property views, and Cottages by the Sea with rotating beach and sea views.
Performance and related benefit to St. Croix from the live views since inception of the network has been nothing short of astounding. Total views for all cameras in 2019 alone was over one million views.
Yaegel further adds, “Additional camera locations and sponsors are welcome. Sponsorship of a hi res camera installation on your property with access through VisitStCroix.com and its YouTube Channel is minimal compared to the benefit. Every hotel, eatery, water sports operator and others with an important St. Croix view is welcome to join and participate.” He adds, “The more cameras, the more we can showcase live the beauty and appeal of St. Croix, and show the world that we will continue to be an attractive destination for visitors.”
