Holiday Hope Benefit

The St. Croix Hotel and Tourism Association along with the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce host this annual fundraiser to benefit the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, the Boys & Girls Club of the Virgin Islands, CASA of the Virgin Islands, and the Patrick Henry Hospitality Scholarship Fund.

What began as a small holiday party for the members of the St. Croix Hotel and Tourism Association in 2006 is now one of the islands highly anticipated fundraisers. Held each December, community members gather for an elegant night of festivities which include a live and silent auction, live music and a chance to spread holiday cheer. Guests are asked to donate in the form of new unwrapped gifts to be given to all ages of children.

Beginning in 2006, the Holiday Hope Benefit has brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars for the various organizations and many toys for the young children of St. Croix. In 2009, a scholarship was created in honor of the long-time Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort general manager and former president of the St. Croix Hotel and Tourism Association, Patrick “Pat” Henry. The scholarship benefits high school seniors, college students, and non-traditional students who are permanent residents of St. Croix and seeking a career in the hospitality industry.

We strive to not only give local children a message of hope on a special day, but to support youth development on a daily basis year-round, while providing educational opportunities for their future.

Proceeds collected at the door go directly to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, and the toys donated are distributed to local children throughout the territory. Some of the charities who have benefited include: Women’s Coalition, the Village, the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital’s Pediatric Unit, the Lighthouse Mission, and Catholic Charities.

The auction proceeds are divided among CASA of the Virgin Islands, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the V.I. and the Richard Patrick Henry Hospitality Scholarship Foundation.
